In August 2002, Henry Birks & Sons Inc. executed an equity investment in Mayor’s Jewelers Inc., which resulted in a 72 % controlling interest of that Company. Mayor’s is a leading high-end jewellery and watch retailer in Florida and Georgia and is publicly traded on the American Stock Exchange (ticker: MYR).
