A Team Italia Meeting: EDC to facilitate the Canadian Export

Team Italia held his April Meeting with the Italian Companies operating in Canada, Team Italia Members and Guests on April 24 at Toronto Board of Trade, Downtown, and and First Canadian Place. The meeting was kindly hosted by Mr. Dan Mancuso, Regional V.P. Ontario of Export Development Canada (EDC).
Team Italia celebrates this year his 10th Anniversary (see Story) . Since 1998 thanks to periodical meeting Team Italia provides a high-powered knowledge base for information sharing and collaboration among executives of Italian and Canadian Companies. At any meeting Team Italia creates great opportunities to let executives and entrepreneurs associated with Italian and Canadian Institutions on personal, professional and institutional levels meet each others.
Many Team Italia members come and leave Canada: who goes remains connected by web site www.team-italia.ca , who arrives fells himself at home immediately because the association offers the right environment to be a friendship Group. This is also the reason of the success of this meeting underlined by the president of Team Italia Marcello Castiglione when he thanked Dan (Mancuso) and his assistants (Lillian and Danielle) for the great hospitality and very successful presentation as well as he welcomed the new Consul General Gianni Bardini arrived in Toronto 10 days ago (he was already in Toronto twenty yeas ago as a Vice Consul). Mr. Castiglione also welcomed Mario Sergio MPP Ontario and Marco Majoring (President of Tardiness, UK and Team Italia vice president) arrived in Toronto just for the meeting and also to announce the visit of an Italian delegation from Friuli Venetia Giulia visiting Toronto to explore the Canadian Market: Team Italia will organize a proper meeting scheduled for same day and sponsored by Tardiness-UK at Fame Furan on June 13.
Thanks to Mr. Mancuso’s presentation “EDC: Supporting Global Strategy“ we learnt that Export Development Canada (EDC):
-has Ontario Regional offices in TO, Mississauga, London and Ottawa; International; 13 locations and growing in strategic developing markets Canada; 4 regional hubs plus HO in Ottawa
-Served 6,963 customers – 84% were SMEs; facilitated $78 billion in exports and investments in 183 markets - $21 billion in emerging markets; $19 billion was in support of exports and investment by SMEs
-Export Guarantee Program offers risk-sharing guarantees to banks for up to 75 per cent of loan related export contracts; MARG guarantees banks that their customers will repay operating lines that are increased by using the customer’s foreign receivables as collateral; Bank Guarantee Program provides cover to Canadian and international banks financing the sale of Canadian exports to customers in developing markets.
-and many other services are developed to facilitate the Canadian export.
